Continuing
Professional Development Group
Seeking members!
Members are sought for the Continuing
Professional Development Group which started at
Leeds Counselling in January 2007. The group is
facilitated by Nick Tanna and is open to
counsellors from diverse theoretical
orientations.
The purpose of the Group is to:
-
offer an
opportunity for counsellors and therapists
to bring professional issues/concerns about
their practice
-
engage in
discussion with others
-
become clearer
about the parameters of technique and
therapeutic work with clients
-
think through
ethical dilemmas
Discussion of case material will be used to
highlight more general practice and development
issues. This is not a supervision group.
Attendance at the Group can be used to satisfy
the CPD requirements of relevant professional
bodies.
Nick Tanna is an individual and group analytic
psychotherapist who also works in a supervisory
and training capacity. Nick’s 20 years’
experience in the therapeutic field includes
roles in the Richmond Fellowship and MIND, and
more recently in the NHS where he still works.
The Group takes place on the 2nd Monday of each
month, from 9.30-11.30 and comprises of up to 6
counsellors/therapists. There is an expectation
for each participant to commit to attending the
Group for a year, after which further
involvement can be negotiated.
The fee for each group meeting (which includes
light refreshments) will be £40.00. Please
contact Laura Johnston at Leeds Counselling on
0113 243 3400 or e-mail
info@leedscounselling.org.uk to register
your interest. Nick Tanna will contact
interested potential members for an initial
discussion.
